Unit Overview:
NICU Level III with 19 bays
Provides care for:
Premature and late pre-term infants
Neonates with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS)
Critically ill newborns requiring intensive care
Infants transported from surrounding areas for specialized NICU services
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the NICU assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for neonates and their families. The RN is accountable for delivering high-quality, evidence-based care and ensuring patient safety in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize the nursing process to develop and implement individualized care plans
Provide leadership and mentorship within the professional practice setting
Delegate tasks appropriately to RNs, LPNs, and support staff
Maintain a safe environment considering patient condition and complexity
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote patient safety goals
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to optimize outcomes
Educate and support families throughout the NICU experience
Uphold AHN’s values of inclusivity, teamwork, and continuous learning

REQUIREMENTS

Registered Nurse, NICU
Experience: 2 years
RN(Compact Accepted)
Certifications: BLS-AHA; NRP-AHA
